Who Knows All the Key Terms in Your Agreements?

I do not like reading contracts and agreements (ok, I do, but most people do not). They are prepared by lawyers and often include arcane language and terms that put me to sleep. But I need to know the important business points that are included, often months or years after the contract was signed.

Perhaps my counsel explained each point to me at the time it was signed or the original template was setup. Has it changed over time, do I remember which deal has old terms vs new terms?

It’s 10pm, do you know where your Contracts are?

Companies lose contracts. And therefore, lose revenue, product and future partnerships. Even though companies spend countless hours and money negotiating and signing these complex deals, when they are executed, the contract ends up sitting in email, a hard drive, a personal Dropbox, etc. Then, there is a different person who is expected to “manage” the partnership now that the deal is closed. That person may never see the contract, but gets told some of the key things that are expected, and goes on their way with the best intentions.
